Engineer sales jobs: MoD signs multi-million pound contracts
People looking for engineering finance jobs could be encouraged by the news that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed sub contracts worth around £52 million to complete two aircraft carriers.
The two Queen Elizabeth Class Future Aircraft Carriers are currently being completed in a dockyard in Rosyth and the work will need electronic equipment to be bought and installed.
Tony Graham, head of Capital Ships within the MoD's Defence Equipment & Support, said: "Our supply chain stretches the length and breadth of the UK, and as such we recognise that the build of these two important warships is a national endeavour of great consequence for jobs, skills and local pride."
The MoD added that recreation products such as TVs and washing machines will be brought in as well as highly sophisticated equipment which the MoD said will make the ships fit for the 21st century.
Engineering finance jobs were recently boosted by the RAF when it signed a multi-million pound deal with Panavia to look after Tornado GR4 aircraft until the end of their service life.
