Construction sales jobs boosted by new scheme
A new £16 million project to help tackle surface water flooding could be good news for finance construction jobs as at-risk areas around the country develop new defences.
The improvements are being made now by the government because it believes flooding could become more prevalent as climate change creates more erratic weather.
Environment secretary Hilary Benn said: "Local authorities have a crucial role to play in tackling flooding and it's vital that they have the information, resources and skills they need."
He added that the money is being distributed to the areas where it can make the biggest difference, those which are most at risk from flooding.
Around £9.5 million from the fund has already been awarded to 77 high-risk authorities, with another £5 million on offer for other areas which can bid for the funds.
Labour recently bolstered finance jobs with a new procurement scheme for the UK's Fire and Rescue Authorities that will see them buying new goods such as ladders and breathing apparatus.
The Aaron Wallis Construction and M&E finance team offers a wide range of construction finance jobs across the sector, including specification finance jobs. For employers Aaron Wallis offer a construction finance recruitment service that includes psychometric profiling and skills testing and is backed by a 12 month rebate scheme.
