One of the leading manufacturers of innovative security equipment are looking for a technical sales engineer to work with national installers and major security distributors. This is a highly technical role that involves training distribution staff and is ideal for an individual with a strong electronic security background together with sales and account management experience.
The company manufacture the world's most hi tech, state-of-art digital wireless security solutions for both the public and private sectors and have won numerous national and international awards for innovation. They enjoy an excellent reputation and have received excellent PR in recent years.
This is a relationship building technical sales role where you are tasked with two core responsibilities: The first is managing distributors and national installers and the second is winning high valued end-user projects in conjunction with the distributor/installers.
Managing the distributors and national installers requires excellent rapport building and communication skills to ensure that your distributors sell your products over competitors. This side of the role also involves training the distributors on new products and training their new members of staff on your product range and its associated features and benefits.
Winning high valued end user contracts in conjunction with the distributor/installer requires dealing at a technical level with the end user client. This can often be technically complex as you will be the hinge pin between the end user client and your technical support staff. As this often requires bespoke solutions you must be able to read and communicate technical drawings together with understanding wiring diagrams.
Therefore to succeed you will be a confident character that enjoys training and providing technical support. The role has a high emphasis on pre-sales and post-sales and will also evolve product testing and evaluation. As such the role requires you to be highly technical, perhaps with a HNC or equivalent in electronics or electrical installation. Alternatively you could at some point in your career been a security installation engineer that has progressed into sales, product training or account management.

You will be credible with an ability to build relationships at all levels from counter level sales staff to procurement directors and proprietors. The role also involves corporate entertaining and representing the company at exhibitions.
The company would also consider applications from heavily technical internal sales professionals looking for their first break into field sales.
The role is UK wide and ideally the company are looking to live in the centre of the UK such as Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Leicester, Nottingham, Coventry, etc.
