Sales Administrator and Sales, Colchester, Essex

Sales Administrator and Sales, Colchester, Essex. £18,000 to £25,000 Basic salary plus bonuses (negotiable based on experience).

Working directly for the Managing Director this is a varied and progressive sales support and sales role that is ideal for an organised and diligent professional that is confident, gregarious and perhaps has a strong sales background. This niche market leader supplies into the public sector has grown from strength to strength over the last 8 years. Now just under 25 staff the company has an excellent open working environment and enjoys extremely low staff turnover.

Due to growth the MD, who is responsible for all of the company's sales, needs an efficient and diligent sales administrator to help him maximise opportunities. The role is ideal for an administrator with sales experience as the role includes interaction with prospective clients, existing clients and external suppliers. This role requires an unusual individual that is a multi skilled administrator yet is unfazed by handling incoming sales calls and attending client sales meetings.

The role is managing a wide range of responsibilities including co-ordinating marketing initiatives (email marketing, PR, direct mail campaigns), event organisation (including managing external suppliers, guest invitations and event co-ordination) and being the key PA support to the Managing Director. The ideal candidate will have been in sales and perhaps left to become a sales administrator as they didn't like the cold calling/new business elements of a sales job.
To succeed you will therefore be a rare individual that is an efficient, organised professional yet is a strong character that is able to be assertive when the need arises.

You will set yourself high personal standards and have the confidence to attend sales meetings, deliver sales pitches/presentations and close incoming sales enquires into face-to-face meetings.
You will be highly systems and process oriented with a positive "Can Do" attitude and as the role requires high levels of working independently you will be self motivated and happy to work alone and unsupervised for much of the time.

You will possess very high personal values and be highly customer service oriented - the type of individual that genuinely wants to make a difference for their customers. You will be both task and people focused and be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. In this autonomous and responsible role you are expected to take accountability for your actions and decisions and be prepared to learn from your mistakes.

You will have high levels of initiative and self motivation and be the kind of person that drives others to 'make it happen'. The environment is highly entrepreneurial and as such direction and strategy does occasionally change to meet demand. Therefore you will be a flexible, non-political personality that wants to be part of a growing and thriving successful operation.

Above all, you will be an enthusiastic, effervescent and positive individual that has an abundance of energy and is a great communicator and influencer of people both face to face and over the telephone.

Solid knowledge of the M/S Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required and knowledge of using a CRM of Business Contact management system would be a definite advantage.
