This is a fantastic business development and commercial role for a business that is helping to put together the infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympics. Whilst not strictly speaking public sector, the various committees and authorities that you will be dealing with operate in a fashion that is similar to Public Sector.
The Olympics in 2012 offers huge commercial opportunities for business and your role will be to spearhead the relationships with the main committees, authorities and sponsors. This is a hugely varied and responsible position that is ideal for a consummate professional with a myriad of commercial skills selling into the Public Sector.
You will be highly credible, articulate and have a proven ability of leading sophisticated business proposals and large tender submissions. You will be the kind of individual that has always wanted to be an expert in their field and as such pushes themselves to absorb as much information as possible to become hugely knowledgeable.
You will have a proven track record of building long term relationships and have a vibrant, enthusiastic persona. You will be self managing, self motivated, disciplined to reach every goal that is set and an individual that is capable of strategising yet always takes action.
You will be highly intelligent and have a 'chameleon like' personality that is able to forge strong relationships at both operational and board levels.
Significant background work has already taken place and relationships are already in place with the major committees responsible for putting the Olympic Games together; you will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy from this point. Using exceptional negotiation and networking skills your role will be develop and build upon the senior level relationships within the numerous framework agreements and win major profitable projects.
This is an exciting and entrepreneurial role with a business that is renowned as an expert in their field. Industry experience is not required but to succeed you will have exceptional commercial acumen and have significant experience of winning major public sector or similar business.
You will be commercially creative and have an innate ability to spot business opportunities.
You will be self driven, tenacious and the kind of person that has a reputation for diligently making sure that every avenue of opportunity is maximised. You must have experience of complex bid processes and large tender submissions and be able to deal with the frustrations of protracted sales cycles and multi-level decision making processes.
This is a career role that reports into the European HQ. After the 2012 Olympics your next major focus will be the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow in 2014.
