Business Development Manager, Technical Sales

Business Development Manager, Technical Sales, London. £30,000 to £40,000 Basic, £60,000 OTE Year One. Established over 20 years ago this profitable and niche manufacturer of data centre products and services are looking to recruit a Business Development Sales Manager to secure new business across London and the South East. Unusually we are not looking for specific industry experience and would prefer to hire a successful and tenacious business-to-business sales professional with experience of selling a technical product with a history of achievement and exceeding targets. The products are sold into any business where the continuation of data is critical and core clients are HQ buildings in the City of London, dedicated Data Centres and similar Internet service providers, banks, government and the country's largest 5,000 companies. Examples of appropriate sales experience for the role include data cabling, lighting, emergency lighting, fire systems, lifts and escalators, CCTV, access control, office refurbishment services, office equipment sales, office furniture, stationery sales, office supplies, contract cleaning, security services, washroom products, facilities management services, etc

As a sales professional you will work in a structured, methodical, planned new business oriented way, perhaps having received formal sales training. This is a sophisticated corporate sale typically won by selling to two or more decision makers and requires creating and managing a large pipeline to ensure that sales targets are met. It is not a 'numbers game' sales role but does require smart ways of new business development. In the UK the operation is a small business so you will also be willing to get involved of all aspects of the sale from cold calling, writing proposals and quotations, following tender processes, presenting, closing and dealing with all of the necessary admin to secure the deals.

Suffice to say, this is a role for a 'hunter' rather than a 'farmer' and to succeed you will possess a CV that demonstrates longevity and loyalty and be looking for a long term career change. The commission scheme is easy to understand, generous and uncapped.
